Bugs: Check garden at dawn and dusk for Japanese beetles. Pick or knock them into a cup of soapy water. Scent or traps attracts more beetles than they destroy.
Flowers: Queen Anne's Lace make wonderful snowflakes dried to put on Christmas trees as ornamental decorations.
Butterfly Notes: Set out orange halves, cut apples and bananas for woodland butterflies at the woods' edge on high platforms or fence posts.
Compost: Don't forget to be turning your pile.
