"Where the Light Hits II" by Gwen Robson I've always loved negative space, which is what this piece exemplifies. I was really impressed and inspired by the extreme lighting that the photographer chose to use in the Maxim Mag. photos of Orlando: 1, 2. (This is drawn from the first.) I drew this image by hand and then scanned it into my computer and colored it there. I've tried a few different things with it (adding a blue, cloudy sky image where the white is, for example), but I'm just not satisfied with the results, and I always seem to come back to the plain black and white. Note: If you picked up on the fact that this is entitled number 2, that's because I painted a piece once that closely resembled this, and it was entitled "Where the Light Hits". So what do you think I should do with this? Change it? Keep it? Tell me what you think. or Send me your art. |
