February's Aerobic Charm Challenge!

I was happy when I read a posting on the Newbie Board talking about the "Walk Away The Pounds" videos! I love to walk! It's something I have always loved to do and now, that the weight's coming off, I am able to do it once more:) But the weather doesn't always co-operate with my plans. That's what is so great about these videos! You do them right in the comfort of your own living room!

You don't need a lot of space either, as they consist of walking in place, side steps, kicks, and knee lifts. You can do them with or without using hand weights too. And you can choose the one that's right for you, whether that's the 1, 2 or 3 mile video:) I love my 1 mile walk and I am just starting to slowly move up to the 2 mile walk. That's why you will mostly see the 1 mile walk listed on my exercise chart below, with the 2 mile walk brought in at least two days a week to start.

You will also see that there are days when I use the weights and days when I don't. If my shoulder or back muscles are very sore from using the weights the previous day, then I will do the video without them the next time I do it. I never want to risk a serious muscle injury from pushing myself beyond my physical limits. I figure that, as I continue to exercise and continue to lose weight, I will eventually build myself up to the point where the weights will become a regular part of my work out routines:)

Below is my exercise chart for this month, February 2003. You will notice only a few days are filled in, that's because I am filling in the days after I do that days exercise. This encourages me to get that exercises done and I don't end up taking Activity Points for something I did not do. This chart also only lists the daily exercise videos that I am doing and not my Activity Points for house work, yard work, etc.

Right now I am on a New Charm Challenge:) I bought an Aerobic Charm for my charm bracelet and figured that I needed an exercise challenge to do in order to earn putting that charm on my bracelet:) So, I must exercise every day, Monday through Friday, through out this entire month, in order to place my newest charm on my bracelet:) Weekends are for regular activities like walking, bowling, etc. :)

I love a good challenge:) It gives me the motivation that I need to succeed! :)

Feb. 19: Wanted to break up my exercise routine a bit, so I tossed in the Richard Simmons "Sweatin' To The Oldies" video, and broke a sweat doing this 30 minute exercise routine that's set to music! :)

Feb. 20: OMG, the Richard Simmons video kicked my butt yesterday! Muscles that I didn't even know I had are sore today! LOL :) So, I backed down the work out today and did my 1 Mile Walk Away The Pounds video, with out the weights, so as to allow my muscles to rest some what - while still getting my daily work out in:)

Feb. 21: Went to Doctor last night and was diagnosed with a head cold. Told no exercising for 7 days. But, come on, I am so close now to earning my charm! So I have backed off a little and have gone back to my WATP 1 Mile walk with no weights, .... for now. :)

Feb. 24 - 28: Still getting over head cold but not giving up!:) So I am continuing on with my 1 mile Walk Away The Pounds video, with no weights, for the remainder of the week, to make sure that I can finish my exercise challenge and earn my charm - while still not over doing it while I am sick. :)

Feb. 28: I've come to the end of this month's exercise challenge and I have shown myself what I can do when I try!!:)))) One more charm earned and now I am setting my sights on March!:)
