I ran my very first 5K on April 18, 2004 and I fell in love with running!:) I wanted to make up a stat sheet for myself, to compare times, courses, etc. as I go along, so I thought I would just go ahead and add it on to my web site:)

THE WOMBATS TOUR OF ALTITUDE MAY 31st - AUGUST 8TH

I was so excited to find this challenge online, that I signed up for it immediately!:)) 

It is ten weeks long, it is done at my own time and pace in my own neighborhood! There are various parts you can sign up for! There is running/walking, swimming and biking! You can choose one event or a combination there of!

The running segment I signed up for will be recreating a 478km (297 miles) run from Sagauli, India via Khatmandu to Mt Everest, Nepal!!:))) I will receive fun weekly updates on things I would see along the way, if I was actually running from Sagauli to Mt Everest!!:) And I get a cool shirt at the end of it too!:)

Talk about a great way to stay motivated with my daily running!!:))) Thanks Wombats!!:)))

Even though I was side lined with a knee injury, I still worked hard to complete this challenge! :)
Total Miles Ran: 53.6 !:)
Came back after knee injury and finished last week strong, ending with 11 1/2 miles! Proud of me!:)
Knee Update: July 21, 2004: Went to Knee Specialist today for my re-check and was told that knee is doing good! No need to go back to doctor again for it. Also told that I can now resume ALL activities!:)

I will be starting back in to my routine slowly - with some light walking, low impact work out videos and short belly dancing classes once a week.

After following this routine for a while, I will add distance on to my walks, little bit at a time, and monitor myself as to when I think I can start to ease back in to some light running. Always take your time coming back from an injury so as not to reinjure yourself! :)
