New Zealand 2000
My father and I went to New Zealand for my cousin's wedding. James and Lucy were married in her home town of Wellington, New Zealand. Here are some photos from that trip.
- Megan enjoying a visit from the replica of Captain Cook's ship in the Wellington harbor. The ship flies the Australian naval flag.
- My aunt Pauline at the botanical gardens in Wellington, with a nice view of the city and harbor behind her.
- The wedding ceremony was held at Sacred Heart cathedral in Wellington--a nice place, but a bit "crumbly" as James would say.
- The day after the wedding, Lucy's mother, Di, held a reception at her house in the hills--Dad is enjoying the view from the back garden. .
- Paul and James sport their outrageous tropical shirts--James' gift to his best man and ushers.
- We visited the Kiwi House on our drive up to Auckland--this is a giant version of the nocturnal animals housed inside.
- Another stop was the glow worm caves--no photos allowed inside, but this is Dad overlooking the lush rain forest outside the caves.
- Our last stop was Auckland--this is the America's Cup Village. The Kiwis had recently won, and held a tickertape parade in Wellington while we were there. What a mess!
- Not sure where New Zealand is or where Wellington is? Try this map.
