Scene opens with a view of Gilmore House

Rory is making coffee in the kitchen. A blurry eyed Lorelai walks in and grabs a mug with a picture of Rory, as Christmas present when Rory was 8. They each sat at the table for a full 20 mins. before they talk.

"So, mom, what are you doing today?" ROry asks, wondering about her moms plans.

"Well, first, I am flying to Florida to get the perfect tan, and then I am going out with Luke." Lorelai said.

"Funny. You mean, really going out. Not just meeting him at the diner and pretending it is a date while he waits on other people?" Rory said.

"Yup. He is closing the diner early, because he couldn't find anyone to cover." Lorelai said, pouring herself more coffee.

"Oh, why didn't you tell me. I'll cover, Mom. Tristan has some family obligation, so he can't go out tonight. It'll be fine." ROry said, standing and going into her room. She came back out.

"Hey mom, what happened to Mrs. Biggerman?" Rory said.

"SHe moved closer to her daughters. Didn't I tell you?" Lorelai said.

"No. But someone is moving in today." ROry said, walking back into her room, checking to make sure she wasn't imagining the van. Nope, it was their, along with a whole crowd of people, led by Patty and Taylor.

Just then, a car pulled up behind the van. Rory pulled on shorts and a shirt, and walked into the kitchen. She went into the livign room, because Lorelai wasn't in the kitchen. She saw her jump down the steps, and together they walked outside.

Taylor and Patty and Kirk and the rest of them were bombarding the family with questions. From what Rory could see, their were three girls and 2 parents.

Before she new it, Lorelai was pushing through the crowd. Rory hurried to help her fend of crazy Stars Hollowans.

"Hey guys, let the people breath." Lorelai said, fighting off he last few. She walked up to the family, who looked like they could kiss her. "Hi. My name is Lorelai Gilmore, and this is my daughter Rory. These are the people you will live with for as long as you live here."

"Hi. I am Olivia Dargon. These are my daughters, MOnica, Stevie, and Melissa, and my husband, Nick." The woman said, extending her hand to Lorelai. SHe was about Lorelai's height, and she had short, stylish, blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. The girls looked just like her, with different lengths of hair. They were all extremely tan, and wore stylish clothing.

"Hi. I am ROry Gilmore. I am 16, and i go to CHilton Prep in Hartford." Rory said, smiling at the girls.

"Hi, I'm Stevie, and I'm 16 also. Mom, didn't you mention CHilton as one of the schools Missy and I might attend?" Stevie said. She had longish blonde hair, longer than Monica's

"Yes, Stevie. Girls, introduce yourselves." Olivia prompted.

"Hi, ROry, Lorelai. I am Monica. I'm 18, and I just graduated high school back in California, so I will be attending college in Hartford." Monica said. SHe was the tallest of the girls, and had shoulder length blond hair.

"Hi, Monica." Lorelai siad, smiling. The town was dispersing, but Patty was hanging around getting the scoop.

"Hi, guys. I'm Melissa. I am 14 and I will be a freshman, wherever I go." Melissa said, smiling. All three girls shared the same smile as their mother.

"Oh, you should go to Chilton. I need a friend their." Rory said, while Lorelai laughed.

"What?" Stevie said, confused.

"It is a great school, don't get me wrong, but the people are....well, how do I phrase this....they're snobs." ROry said. They all laughed. They stood around and talked for a while. Stevie invited Monica, Melissa, and Stevie to work the diner with her so they could meet other people. Stevie agreed, but Melissa and Monica wanted to get settled in. They said goodbye and Rory and Stevie made plans to meet at her house at 6:30.

Later that Day:

Rory wuz in her room laying on her bed while she read a book when she heard her mother scream her name.

She put down her book and slowly got up knowing that her mom was not having a real emergency, only a clothes panick.

When she reached the top of the stairs and walked into Lorelai's room, she wuz suprised to find how messy it wuz. There wuz clothes covering the floor and hanging from everything in the room.

Lorelai put her hand on her hip and started babbling bout having nothing to wear, and if Rory didn't help her should have a nervous breakdown.

Rory knew her Mom and that she really liked Luke, explaining the reason why she couldn't pick anything to wear. She knew how her mom felt, cuz she felt the same everytime she got ready to go out with Tristan.

She finally stopped her mom who wuz still babbling on and told her she would help her get ready before she had to meet Stevie and go to the diner.

After a few minutes she had her mom calmed down and getting dressed.

The outfit Rory picked out would be perfect for the night Lorelai knew. Since it would be a semi-casual evening, just going to dinner and a movie it would be just right.

Rory looked at her mom and was glad that her mom wuz really happy. She looked beautiful wearing a light blue shirt that said "Paris on it" with a beautiful backgroud and glitter on it which brought out Lorelai's personality, and a pair of dark jeans that made her look even more slim then normal, and wearing her favorite shoes.

Rory looked at the clock, and noticed it wuz already 6:15! She told her mom she looked great and had to get ready to go.

Rory changed into some comfy clothes cuz she knew it would be a long evening. She then put on a neckalace Tristan have given her. She wish she could be spending the night with him. But she knew he had other plans that couldn't be canceled.

She then heard the doorbell ring and ran to anwser it. She greeted Stevie with a smile and told her she would be ready in just a second.

Rory gave her mom a hug and told her she knew the evening would go by and everything would be great.

Lorelai smiled at her daughters words. She knew her daughter wuz trying to help, but she still wuz nervous.

Rory ran back down the stairs and headed to the Diner with Stevie. On the way to the Diner, Rory and Stevie started talking more. Stevie wuz questioning Rory bout Chilton and how she liked it. Rory told her as much as she could without making it sound to bad.

They were almost to the diner when Rory saw Dean walking up the street towards the two of them. Her heart stopped. She had not talked to Dean since they broke up. Right after that he moved away before saying bye. She did not know what to do. When he had almost reached them, he suddenly went into a store.

Stevie noticing how Tence Rory wuz asked what wuz the matter. Rory told her that Dean wuz an old friend who had moved away. She didn't want Stevie knowing that he wuz her old boy friend cuz that would mean to many questions.

They had finally reached the Diner. Rory introduce Stevie to Luke and they both said hello, though Luke seemed distracted. He begin listing a whole bunch of things to do and not, when Rory stopped him and told him she had everything under control and to get out of there go see her mom.

Luke knew she wuz right. Rory wuz a real responsible kid. He wuz real excited about his date with Lorelai. He had liked her for so long he thought to himself. Who wuz he kidding, he knew he loved her, and hoped she loved him he thought as he walked to her house.

Lorelai wuz finishing putting on her make up when she heard the door bell ring. Luke wuz running a little late but she didn't mind. It gave her more time to get ready. She hoped she wouldn't do or say anything stupid. Luke wuz a really great guy. She just hoped he wuz not on the re-bound after Rachel dumped him. The doorbell rang again and snapped her out of her trance. She grapped her purse and headed to the door.

She opened the door and found Luke with roses. She smiled, he wuz so sweet. She put them in a vase and then they were on there way.

After putting the roses in the blue glass vase sitting on the back shelf in Luke's diner, Lorelai and Luke were off to Stars Hollow park for a romantic picnic and moonlit walk.

Rory and Stevie were tying their aprons on when they heard the bell jingle on the diner door. It was Miss Patty, after giving her a cup of coffee and a cookie, as well as recieving an update for Stevie on all Stars Hollow gossip, Miss Patty left. "Probably in search of more gossip" Rory told Stevie, laughing at the truth of that statement. Stevie started to ask about Chilton, its students and its work. Rory telling Stevie about the classes and teachers, the honor code and the song, grades and the competition. Then Rory starting in on talking about Paris, Madeline and Louise, Summer and Henry then last finally Tristin. And right then as if on cue the bell rung, only to be Tristin. Stevie and Tristin immediately hit it off talking and laughing while Rory dusted the diner. The bell rung once again, the door opened to reveal...

The bell rung once again, the door opened to reveal...Luke. Rory couldn't begin to imagine why he wuz back so early; it had been less than an hour since he and her mom gone on their date.

Rory asked Luke why he was back so early, only to be answered by something she didn't expect. Luke was nearly yelling at her saying that she shouldn't have her boyfriend there because she wuz suppose to be running the diner. Rory had no idea why Luke was behaving like this, but she wasn't going to stay around and see why. She grabbed her stuff and asked Stevie if she wanted to walk home with her. With that she wuz out the door.

Rory walked in the door and immediately headed to her mom's room. She walked into her mom's and found Lorelai laying on her bed with tears going down her cheeks. Rory went and sat down next to her mom and waited for her mom to tell her what happened.

About 30 minutes later Rory decided to just ask her what happened. Lorelai looked up at her daughter with tears still coming down her cheeks. She then begin to tell her daughter what happened.

"We where at the park. We had just finished our picnic and where snuggling up on a blanket looking at the stars. I looked at him and suddenly realized it. I knew I had to tell him or I wouldn't ever be able to. So I said, Luke, I love you. He jerked his head toward me and, and he, he said that he couldn't see her anymore. He said he loved sumone else."

Lorelai continued her crying while Rory kept rubbing her hair. She asked her mom if the other person Luke was talking about was Rachel. Lorelai just nodded.

Lorelai had stopped crying and Rory and her went downstairs to get some coffee. While drinking their coffee and sitting at the kitchen table they heard sumone know at the door. They both looked at each other, guessing who it might be. Lorelai got up and headed towards the door. She opened and found...

"Luke!" She said, not able to hide the anger and surprise from her voice. She didnt close the door, but she turned on her heel and marched into the kitchen. Just as she had expected, Luek followed.

"Lorelai, I need to talk to you!" Luke said, seeing Rory slide into her bedroom and close the door.

They sat in silence for a few mintues.

"Well, talk. You said you needed to talk, so talk." She said, pouring herself a cup of coffee.

"Lorelai, I'm sorry. I don't know what made me think of her." He said, pouring himself a cup of coffee because he knew lorelai wasn't going to.

"What---did you call her and she said she didn't love you so oyu are falling back on me?" SHe said, seriously mad.

Luke started to get mad too. "Lorelai, do you know what it feels like to hav someone say I love you?"

Lorelai realized that, apart from her family, Christopher had been the onyl one to say that, and she still had decided to raise Rory on her own.

"You thought Dean was totally horrible for breaking up with her for that, but here you are. Totally mad at me because I was scared." Luke said, seeing the astonished look on Lorelai's face. "Their, I said it. I was scared. I had never had anyone say I love you to me. It's hard, Lorelai. I didn't know how to respond. SO I made up stuff about Rachel. I am sorry."

Luke stood, and made his way out to the door. Lorelai sat their as she heard him shuffle towards the door.....shoudl she do it?

Lorelai just sat there and stared at where Luke had walked out for a few seconds, she then heard the front door slam, being jerked from her daydream she screams to Rory, "Invite Dean over, Im not going to be back for a while!" and with that grabs her coat and heads straight for the front door. Immediately turning in the direction of the diner she starts spriniting down the street following the path Luke was just in front of her on.

Meanwhile, Rory was at home thinking. Thinking about Luke's reaction when Tristin was at the diner, thinking of Dean, thinking of Lorelai, thinking of her life. She just couldnt bring herself to call Dean though. After what had happened at the diner she just couldnt, she didnt want to have to explain why Tristin was at the diner, and why Luke had called him her boyfriend. She was still in shock herself. She sat and thought for a second, where is Tristin?? Stevie and I just left him there, I wonder if hes alright?

Lorelai still continuing her hundred meter dash to the diner looked up to see Luke closing the diner door. She sped up and doing just as she had planned grabbed the diner door right before it closed. 'Perfect timing' Lorelai muttered under her breath. Luke just looked at her, finally saying, "Lorelai why are you here?? And why aren't you breathing properly?" Leaving Lorelai to in turn reply "I was moving at the speed of light Luke, do you really think I can breathe properly after Ive run that fast??" Luke just chuckled and then repeated his previous question," As much as I would like to know why you were moving at the speed of light, I would first like to know why you're here. So why are you??" Lorelai pried her eyes off staring at her feet and glanced at him fidgeting in nervousness trying to find an answer. About 5 minutes later when she did, all she could say is...

Lorelai pried her eyes off staring at her feet and glanced at him fidgeting in nervousness trying to find an answer. About 5 minutes later when she did, all she could say is.....

"Luke, I want to give a try, a try at us being an us." Luke stood there looking surprised and confused at the same time. Lorelai took his silence as him saying no. She then turned around and started to walk out of the diner.

He knew that a small part of him still loved Rachel, but he thought that maybe a part of him that he didn't understand yet loved Lorelai. He knew there would only be one way to find, to give them a chance that they had never had. Lorelai's movement shook Luke out of his thoughts.

Lorelai was just bout out of the diner when she heard Luke calling her name. She turned to see his all to familiar serious face.

Luke didn't know exactly what to say, but he knew it was the time to say it. He just opened his mouth and spoke from his heart explaining his fears of being in a relationship with Lorelai. Lorelai stood there and listened and when he was done she told him that he should just give it a try. Luke knew they should to. He asked her if she would like some coffee, and as usual she did. They spent the evening talking and just drinking coffee together.

Rory was getting bored of her book; she couldn't seem to concentrate on it at all. She decided to make a phone call. She tried Lane's house but Lane was out. She thought of calling Dean but for some reason she didn't really want talk to him. Then she thought of calling Tristan, she had an excuse to anyhow. She could call and make sure he wuz okay after her and Stevie had left him in the diner, and to find out why he had come there to start with.

She got her yearbook out and found where Tristan had signed his name and put his phone number by it. She got the phone and sat for a second before dialing the number. An elderly lady with a gruff voice picked up the phone, "May I talk to Tristan please?" Rory said in a wobbly voice. The old lady asked who wuz calling and Rory answered with her name.

About five minutes had passed and she wuz still waiting to talk to Tristan. She wuz starting to doubt herself about talking to him, why wuz she feeling nervous talking to him, it wuz only Tristan? In the middle of her thought Tristan picked up. He answered with his usual casualness voice, "Hey, who is this"? Rory waited a quick second before answering.

"Oh hi, this Rory, how are you?"

"I'm good, what are you calling for though, I didn't know you had my number."

"Oh yeah, I wuz just calling to make sure you where okay after I kind of left you at the diner, and I wuz wondering why you had come by anyhow?"

"Well, I have an idea, how about we meet sumwhere and talk some more, it's a lot nicer to talk in person, what do you say"

Rory thought for a second. They would be meeting just to talk, not like it wuz a date or anything. But it wuz Tristan. She wuz totally confused. She knew she had to answer him, so she made her choice.

"Tristan, I am sorry we broke up." ROry said quickly. She remembered the moment so well. Theyw ere standing between their cars at CHilton. They had been dating for a few months, and Rory had never felt more safe and secure. She was so happy.

"Rory, I need to tell you something." Tristan said.

"What is it?" She asked, slightly worried.

"Rory, I think we should see other people." Tristan said, looking down at his feet.

"Tristan, is this about that whoel Dean thing, cuz if it is, I am sorry." Rory said, thinking back to the week before when Dean had showed up at her house. He wanted to get back together, even though they had been apart for a while. He had hugged her, and taken her totally by surprise. Tristan chose that moment to pull up and see them. She had explained everything to him, but she wasn't sure he believed her.

"It isn't that. I just think we need a break, that's all. Just a little breathing time." He said.

She had just nodded her head, afraid she would burst into tears right their. She couldn't help it, though. A lone tear had escaped and slid down her cheek.

"Rory, don't cry...." He said, wrapping his arms around her.

When he pulled back, ROry thought she saw tears in his eyes.

"I love you Tristan DuGray" She said, looking up into his eyes.

He opened the door to her car and she slipped in. She rolled down the window, and they sat lke that for a few moments.

"I'll always love you, Rory Gilmore......" He said, right before walking to his car.

Rory had thought back to thta day many times, wondeirng why, if he loved her, he had broken up with her.

"Rory....." he started.

"...I want to talk to you about that, please just meet me at Lukes in an hour" Tristin finished.

"Thats not such a good idea Tristin." Rory stated, knowing her Mom and Luke were still at the diner.

"But why not Rory? I really want to meet you.." Tristin said with dissapointment.

"No, Tristin I would love to meet you , its just that my mom and Luke are at the diner right now and probably will be for a while, shes already been there for a couple hours."Rory said reliving this afternoon.

"Well its about time that got together" And with this Tristin and Rory both chuckled.

"Fine, Tristin meet me at Stars Hollow Library in an hour, I have to get a book anyways." Rory said.

"Sure, always in need of a book Ror." Tristin said.

"I know your rolling your eyes." Said Rory thinking of all those times from when they went out.

"Yeah, yeah see you in an hour."

Rory anxiously went thru her closet looking for sumthing to where. She wanted to look nice knowing that she wuz goin to Tristan. She really cared what he thought bout her, which she didn't for most people. She finally found a yellow turtle neck and a pair of jeans.

She looked in the mirror and looked at herself and her outfit, and suddenly thought of one more thing she wanted to where. She got out her jewelry box and dug thru it and finally found the item she wuz looking for.

It wuz the ring Tristan had given to her. She thought back to when he had given it to her, it wuz such a special night. Tristan had taken her to dinner, and then to a beautiful park. They had been walking around the park and had sat down on a bench just sitting by each other and enjoying the other's presence. He had a small smile on his face when he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little box. When Rory opened it she didn't know what to say.

It wuz a silver ring that had an extraordinary design on it, and on the inside it had sumthing engraved in it. She went to look at the words inside closer and Tristan read them for her, "Your Dreams Will Come True". At first it didn't mean that much to her, but the more she thought bout it the more it meant to her. Tristan knew how much Rory's dreams of meant to her. She knew it wuz sumthing she would cherish forever.

She then looked at the clock to see how much time she had left, and saw she only had fifteen minutes to get to the library. She slid the ring on and wuz out the door. She didn't know exactly what to expect, but she knew whatever it wuz, whatever happened, that she would never love anyone as much as Tristan.

She had reached the library and stood before it a minute to steady and reasure herself. Just before she wuz going to go in, she heard her name called. She turned to find Tristan

After hearing that familiar voice call her name, her heart ached, she missed how he used to call her name, make her laugh and give her hugs.She turned aroundto see him holding a cup of mocha coffee forher, her favorite. "Thanks Tristin, I can't believe you still remember thats my favorite" "I could never forget anything about you, Ror." Tristin said blushing. "ThanksTris, thats sweet of you. Now lets go down to Als Pancake House for some food, Im starved." said Rory. "Alright but I thought you were getting a book?" "Already did now lets go." And with a slight chuckle Rory and Tristin started towards Als Pancake House.

Rory and Tristan where enjoying themselves talking on there way to eat. On there way there they ran into Lane. Lane got an excited, crazy look when she saw the two of them. Rory and Tristan both did their best not to laugh at her, although it wuz quite hard. Lane quickly made up an excuse and left and went on her way, but not without giving Rory a quick hug and whispering into her ear "call me as soon as you get home and tell me EVERYTHING!"

Rory and Tristan made their way into Al's Pancake House. It wuz unusually crowded. Rory saw many people looking at the two of them as they walked in. Right before they where seated Ms. Patty ran up and started quizzing Rory and Tristan asking who Tristan wuz and what they where doing and if Lorelai knew where they where. Tristan looked scared or anxious, so Rory said she had to be sumwhere and they left quickly before Ms. Patty had time to ask anything else.

As soon as they where out Rory started laughing at the expression on Tristan's face. "How can you live in a town like this Rory? It must me quite interesting." "Indeed it is, now lets head over to Luke's and hope for less of a crowd."

They walked into Luke's and found....

.....a figure lying on the counter. Luke had a little smile on his face as he wiped down the counter around the body. Rory walked and realized it was her mom. She just smiled and crawled up on a dry spot next to her and fell asleep quickly. Tristan sat at the counter and Luke, being in an extraordinarily good mood, poured him a cup of coffee. Tristan went over and turned on the radio to a popular station. A song came on, and Tristan sat back down. As the song ended, another one came on, Evan and Jaron Crazy for This Girl.

Lorelai and Rory were facing each other as they slept. A single tear rolled down Lorelai's cheek. She opened her eyes to see Rory crying too. They hugged each other and fell back to sleep. The guys watched this scene unnoticed. And unknown to each other, this is the moment they fell in love with the Gilmore Girls.
