J O U R N A L...
August-December

Goodness where to begin? How about at the beginging...A very good place to start!

I arrived in Belgium on the 23rd of August 2002. I came over with a plane full of excited exchange students! We all stuck out being we had our lovely Rotary Blazars on, and we all spoke very loudly and in English.....
I was greeted by my first and third host family (my second host family was in Italy at the time of my arrival)

My first host family- I absolutly love being the big sister for a change. I have a younger sister Perle who is 12 and a little brother, Nathan is 7. My host parents are great as well. They both speak English which is good and bad. My brain is not totally fried with the French Language but I am not as fluent as I could be.

School- I go to school in a very small village. There are three other exchange students who go to the school. So I speak English with them  at school as well. My classes are ok. I doubled up on the French so I have the class with the 3eme and 6eme. The teachers have all been very understanding and helpful as I understood  nothing for about the first two months. My classmates are great. I have made lots of friends. However they also try to speak English which the famous question is "I speak very well English no? " But I am sure my French was as terrible.

Activities- I take a modern jazz class every Monday night with my second host Mother. Its not the same as Irish Dancing but it will keep me from falling terribly behind. We have a recital the 1st of May. We are picking music right now. I brought all my CD's to class one night. Everyone was so excited "American Music" I think the instructor took about half of the CD's to make copies. We are doing a routine to
N'SYNC! I am also in a really awesome choir. We meet every Wed. There are also three other exchange students in the choir. I am singing a duet with the Candian exchange student for our Christmas Concert. We are the only ones who know Silent Night in English! lol!

Travels- I went to London the end of October. It was so much fun! I went with Rotex and over 200 other exchange students. I saw all the sites! St.Pauls, St James, Big Ben, the London Eye, the Globe Theatre I toured Windsor Castle, London tours, London Bridge and Westminister Abbey. O it was just so awesome I dont even know how to describe it!

I am going to Germany to ring in the New Years! I will be with two other exchange students from the QC! It should be a blast!
