Fleur Delacour
Beauxbatons Academy of Magic

Mademoiselle Delacour hails from France
Age: Seventeen (as of Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts, exact date of birth is unknown)
Family Tree: Eight year old sister:  Gabrielle Delacour, Grandmother was a Veela
Wand: Nine and a half inches, inflexible, rosewood, core containing the hair of a Veela (her Grandmother's to be exact).
Looks: Long silvery blond hair down to her waist, and large deep blue eyes with very white teeth

Fleur Delacour Beauxbatons Tri Wizard Champion

Fleur participated in the Tri-Wizard tournament as the Beauxbatons Champion.  She was the first name the Goblet of Fire "spit out."  She was the second champion to perform the first task; stealing a golden egg from a mother dragon.  She battled with a Welsh Green Dragon.  She used a charm to put the dragon to sleep, and it worked, but unfortunately when it snored, a great jet of flames shot out from it's nostrils and her skirt caught fire.  She conjured a bit of water to put it out, and retrieved the egg.  No score is given in the book but it is implied that she did the third best out of four champions.
The third task was greatly interfered with by a dark wizard.  Fleur was stunned by this wizard and was unable to continue the task.  However, this is no dis-credit to her, since the circumstances were obviously unfair and out of her control.

Beauxbatons:
*  Literally translated Beauxbatons means "beautiful sticks."  But it really means "beautiful wand."  That is why there were two wands were on the doors of the Beauxbatons coaches.
*  Fleur Delacour's name translates to "flower of the court."
*Beauxbatons is pronounced (bow-BA-tons)

UHP - Unofficial Harry Potter Website
FD - Fleur Delacour

UHP - Good morning Fleur, how are you?
FD - Very well thank you, but it iz very cold thees morning.
UHP - What was it like competing in last years Triwizard Tornament?
FD - It was zee greatest honour I could to represent my school and my country.  Very scary at times especially when zee merpeople 'ad my sister captured in zee second task.
UHP - Who out of the Triwizard champions did you get along with the most?
FD - Probably Viktor Krum, ee was easier to relate to because we both were from different schools and were trying to adapt to a new place while completing zee tasks.
UHP - What are your plans for the future?
FD - I am spending some time at 'ome right now.  I have not seen my parents since zee last task.  I am 'oping to become part of zee French Ministry International Games and relations office.
UHP - Will you be meeting any of the other champions soon and have you kept in touch with them?
FD - No, I won't be meeting with zee ozzer champions soon, as I said before I want to spend some time with my family.  I wrote a letter to Viktor saying thank you for competing and one to Harry Potter for winning but zat's all.
UHP - Was your visit to 'ogwarts last year your first trip to England?
FD - Yes Hogwarts was my first trip to England and an English speaking country.  I 'ope to perfect my English more maybe when I am in zee Ministry I'll have ze opportunity to.
UHP - Now that you have graduated from Beauxbatons, what is the one thing you think you will miss the most?
FD - I miss being able to be with all my friends at zee same and I will always miss zee beautiful castle but I am really glad to be 'ome with my family now.
UHP - In eight years time your sister, will be old enough to compete in the Triwizard Tornament, if she could, would you encourage her to enter?
FD - No, I most certainly would not, it iz far too dangerous for my Gabrielle to be involved in.  Lok what 'appened when she was involved in only one task!  She nearly drowned....
UHP - Thank you for participating in this interview Fleur, good luck in the future.
FD - Thank you very much and zee same to you.  I 'ope to see many English speaking wizards soon.
