AUSTRALIA
This last month my sister Karen and I travelled to the "Land down under" aka Australia. Now going to Australia has been my life long dream, so for the last year I was saving for my trip. All the long waiting paid off, as we travelled 20 hours to Sydney, with a short stop over in Narita, Japan.

The first three days in Sydney were spent touring around and facing the rain which we had left Vancouver to get away from. Karen and I went and saw the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. We stayed another 2 days in Sydney until we started our Oz Experience bus tour.

The first night we spent at a sheep shearing station in a small town called Nundle. The second night was spent in Bingara. A communial room with 30 other girls was where Karen and I tried to recover from the sunburns we got from Bondi and Coogee Beaches in Sydney.

The third night we arrived in Byron  Bay, which is known for its beautiful beaches, but not as full as tourists as Sydney and Cairns. We met a lot of people on our bus, two of the girls were from the U.S. (Jenna and Lindsay) which Karen and I went clubbing with at Cheeky Monkey's in Byron Bay. We spent 3 days partying hard in Byron Bay, and finally went up to Surfer's Paradise(self-explanatory), and Brisbane.

In Brisbane we went to the Australia Zoo where Karen and I saw the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. We had a great time seeing all the different type of animals that they have there. We got to pet the cutest Koala bears, and Kangaroos. The many other animals that we saw: Crocodiles, Alligators, Camels. Emu, Tazmanian Devils. Dingos, Wombats...and many more.

We finally had to start heading back to Sydney so we jumped back on the Oz Experience bus and headed down to NImbin.. the local hippy town. Now Karen and I had a blast in Nimbin. Now the thing you need to know about Nimbin is that weed isn't legal, but isn't illegal either. As you walk down their main road, pretty much the only road in town many people come up to you to try and sell you bud. Karen and I scraped together what was left of our money and got some weed cookies, which gave us a nice body high!!

We stayed in Nimbin for a couple of days at the Rainbow Retreat where they have a giant mushroom where people can rent to sleep in... cool huh?
As jumped back on the bus we head to Bellingen where we swam behind a waterfall and had a blast with two English girls named Haze and Candy who smoked us up when we headed back to the sheep station in Nundle.

Karen and I being stupid party girls, spent our bus money back to the airport on alcohol so that we could have one last night of fun in the beautiful land of Australia. When we arrived the next day in Sydney we bull-shitted our way to get to the airport on the local transit, saying that our wallets got stolen. Karen and I spent our last night in the airport, and awoken early to get kickass seats on the plane. Karen has a special Japanese Airlines member card, so we got bulk head seats on the upper part of the plane right behind the pilot.

We arrived in Nariita Airport where we were taken to our free hotel for the night. The hotel room which would have cost us $200 a night had kamono robes in the rooms to relax in. Karen and I had the greatest sleep out of our entire trip. We awoke to an all you can eat Buffet breakfast... mmmmmmmm yummy!!

Karen and I left to fly on our flight back to Vancouver, and our seats were in the middle and we were behind a bunch of kids, and to top it off the air dried out my eyes so they hurt. Needless to say we were happy to get back home.

We had a great time, and I hope to return so that I can scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef.
