| Chase-the-Blues Spell January 19 honors the god Thor who battled the Frost Giants and saved the human race from an eternal winter. This is the time of year when winter's darkness recedes, but winter's cold grows in strength. Ask for Thor's aid as you struggle with low energy, illness, and with depression at this time of year. Adorn your altar with a blue cloth, a blue candle anointed with clove oil, a hammer, and a list of your personal demons of winter. Light the candle and say: Mighty Thor, to you I pray; Keep the winter blues away. Your strength and courage is what I need; With your aid I will succeed. | To stop a pointless argument, take a picture of the one you are fighting withand place a clear piece of tape over his or her mouth. Draw a heart upon it. Kiss it, and place it where you can see it as you clearly say: "You may best me with your words, But you are bested by my kiss. No more will I hear angry words; From these lips, love will persist!" Blow a kiss to it now and then as you walk by. Then place it in your dresser or another quiet place, and reinstate the spell when needed. This also works on yourself. by Nancy Bennett |

| Camping Spell When on camping trip, remember that the forest is home to untamed and invisible spirtis and elementals who may be resentful of intrusion. Immediately upon setting up camp, walk in a clockwise circle about the site while saying: By earth,air, fire and water We are kin. Then, thank the spirits for allowing you to visit. Each night, place a bowl of fresh water just ouside the circle. Always keep your campsite clean and quiet. If you still find youself up to your elbows in posion ivyy, or the raft springs a leak, or skunks invade your tent.
