Spell to Call a Child's Guardian Angel (Source-Matthew Green) The following spell is designed to invite a beloved child's guardian angel to provide a shield of protection through which the taunts and cruelty of a bully can not penetrate. On a Sunday evening, explain to the child what you are about to do. Gather together the following items: a white candle a glass of water a white feather a white moonstone or milky quartz With the child's help arrange the items neatly on a table or bench. Light the candle and extinguish any artificial illumination. Close your eyes and recite the following: "Great and pure loving spirit of guidance and protection, angel assigned to my child (child's name). Please be here as a beacon of strength and mighty vigilance. Let no threat or malice harm (child's name) and shield him/her with your wings." Place the moonstone or white crystal in the water and dip the feather into the liquid. Using the feather, sprinkle some of the water over the child's head and say: "With this sacred water of love and power I protect you in the name of your guardian angel who looks over you and protects you with mighty wings." Blow out the candle and have the child carry the crystal or moonstone at all times. If the stone is lost, it has served its purpose and the indication is the perform the spell once more using the same candle and feather as before. When the threat has passed, burn the candle away to nothing and thank the child's angel with an improvised prayer or chant. Luis Bunuel. |
Tooth Fairy Ritual For Children Required Items: Newly lost tooth A small glass (such as a juice glass) A pinch of glitter or star confetti Colored sand (green is best) A small box to save the fairy dust in A sleeping child The tooth is placed under the upside-down glass, which is set on the window ledge. This is what the child sees before going to sleep. When the child is asleep, then you may go in and replace the tooth with some coins, wrapped candy, small toy, or some sort of treat. Next, sprinkle the item(s) with some of the glitter and sand (fairy dust), replace the glass over them, and sprinkle some of the fairy dust over the glass, whispering these words: Fairies of the mantle, the basement, and roof bless now this mixture of dust for the tooth. Fairies of field, meadow, and tree many all my child's wishes, turn out to be! In the morning, have the child collect the fairy dust and put it in the small box. Then the child may have the present. Two fold purpose here. You have the magickal thinking of the child, and the beauty that arises from their joy. Secondly, if the child saved the fairy dust it will be a magickal talisman. The magickal belief will beimprinted upon the fairy dust. This fairy dust can be used for future spell casting and when older they can carry it in a special bag as a good luck charm. If the child as an adult loses the magickal ability, then the fairy dust can be used to restore it. From Hereditary Witchcraft by Raven Grimassi |
Protection from Nightmares The word mare is Old English for "demon." In olden days, people believed that troubled sleep was caused by a demon who rode you like a horse while you slept. The terrible things you dreamt were the experiences from the ride. To protect yourself from nightmares and interrupted sleep, find a sacred holey stone. Thread a string through the hole and hang it by your bed. Repeat this old German charm: I lay me here to sleep; No nightmare shall plague me; Until they swim all the waters; That flow upon the earth; And count all the stars; That appear in the firmament! As I will, so mote it be. by: Lily Gardner-Butts Llewellyn 23 Jul 03 |
I think this would be a wonderful Summertime wish spell for anyone, but especially children since they are fascinated by Dandelions and wishes! Dandelion Spell If it's not your birthday, and you don't have candles to wish on, you can choose to wish on a dandelion on this day. To do this, pick a dandelion that has turned white and is ready to be blown away. Make a wish, and try to blow away all the seeds with one breath, like you would birthday candles. If you can blow all the seeds away in one breath, you will get your wish! Another version of this spell goes: If you can blow all the seeds away in one breath, your wish will come true immediately. If seeds remain, count them; the number of seeds is equal to the number of days until you will get your wish. by: Magenta Griffith Llewellyn 26 Jul 03 |
To bless a child with long life, good health, happiness, and prosperity when a child loses its first teeth place them in a small clear gold-tinted bottle. Along with the tiny teeth, place in the bottle a few rose petals, some angelica and orris root, several cloves and a cinnamon stick, some rue and vervain, and a piece of gold and a piece of silver. The gold and silver need not be fancy-even a small earring will do. Put each of the child's first teeth in the bottle until you have collected them all. Then, blow some of your breath into the bottle, and say: "Long life, good health, happiness, prosperity, and love." Seal the bottle with red wax. ~ Lori Bruno |
Happiness for Children Spell The Roman festival celebrating the lives of children is known as Juvenalia, and it falls on December 25. This year consider using your holiday tree as a talisman for the happiness of a child in your life. Along with your usual decorations, allow the child to help select whimsical items such as pinwheels, action figures, or other items to include on your tree. On colored ribbons write out wishes for the child's future-such as happiness, prosperity, good education, good friends, and so on. As the child attaches each ribbon to the tree have him or her recite: Blessings of this season come to me, Let me be all that I can be. by: Edain McCoy Llewellyn 25 Dec 02 |
