| DEAR VISITOR This will not give you a complete translation of the total Meijer page. I'll give you the most important information to find your way in the MEIJER history Up till now our roots are in the South of Holland in an area with lots of lakes and canals.The villages were our anchestors lived are Woubrugge, Leimuiden and Oude en Nieuwe Wetering (the meaning of the last two villages is Oud=Old Nieuwe=New Wetering=Canal) My uncle Izaak Meijer and a "far away" nephew Leen Meijer have been busy for many years to collect all information regarding the Meijer family. And they got me enthousiastic too to jump into the puzzle of MEIJER's We are still searching for our anchestor HENDRIK from whom we still can't find when and where he was born and where he came from. He married in Woubrugge to Neeltje Jans Houweling in 1748. Another interesting research is finding relatives of HENDRIK who emigrated to Canada and also lived in the States (California ?) He was born in 1876 in Oude Wetering and died in 1941. And ofcourse we are anxious to find Meijer's who are related to us, closeby or far away !!!
