There are many detectives in Japanese Anime, but two that have become popular now in Japan are Detective Conan and Matantei Loki.
Detective Conan is about Kudo Shinichi's search for the Black Organization, whose members were responsible for turning him into the 7 year old Edogawa Conan. He can't let anyone know about his true identity or the Black Organization will come after him and the people he knows!
Matantei Loki tells the story of the Norse God Loki, who was sent to Earth in the form of a boy. Seems he made a big enough prank that the other Gods punished him. While on earth, he runs a detective agency and lives with Yamino, who works as a butler for Loki.
