ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mel Savoie wanted to write novels for as long as he could remember, but life intervened. Life in the form of a twenty year stint in the Air Force. While in the service, he married Phyllis Davy and together they raised two sons, Mark, and Kurt. After a tour in North Africa, he was assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations where he served as a Special Agent conducting criminal, counterintelligence, and security investigations in the US and later, Korea. He wrote and edited hundreds of investigative reports, biographical sketches, and contributed articles to numerous USAF publications. After retiring from the Air Force, he earned a BA with honors at the University of Maryland. But after two hard years of seven day weeks the excitement of owning their own business had disolved. That's when he finally began writing novels.
