Landscaping, paint, plumbing and elec continue

The weather holds and we get some time on our excavator's schedule.  He does final grading, preps the driveway for concrete, and digs 12 holes for tree planting.  We plant 4 Washington Hawthornes on the west property line, 2 Autumn Blaze Maples on the east property line, 4 Jumpup Junipers on the south line, and 2 Colorado Spruces in the back yard.

The heavy equipment does not help for the rock work behind the garage.  After laying weed barrier, the stones are placed by hand, wheel barrel, and shovel.  Rock is a good choice here - it avoids needing to mow in this tight spot.

The plumber finishes the drain and supply system rough-ins.  The supply side is pressurized to check for leaks.  The drain side is filled to the roof vents as a leak check.  During my back framing, I have shot a nail through one of the vent pipes.  We'll need to fix that next week.

Mel and I do some landscaping odds and ends by hand, including the placement of window wells and the crawlspace entrance.  The filled lot is pretty easy to dig.

Our painter completes the body color, but will not return for a week or two to start the window trim.  The body looks kinda tan, kinda white, kinda pink depending on the lighting and time of day.

The meter housing, service entrance box, and garage load center are installed.  The service entrance wire is on the garage so the wiring is a bit more complex than the average house.  I have the excavator trench between the house and the garage and I will lay 3 1/2" schedule 40 PVC to run 4/0 wire for the house service.  4/0 is monster cable with 4 wires that are each about 5/8" in diameter.  There are a few unusual parts that I need (for example, a 200amp feed through breaker, and 4/0 service lugs) and I spend a day at various electric supply houses.
