Slow week

Lost 2 days to rain, but finished blocking, most 1st floor interior walls and 2 courses of exterior sheathing.  An interior wall cuts the house in half allowing us to design for shorter floor joists.  Headers carry the load around doorways and a large MicroLam beam (green) is set to carry the load around a large open span in the living room.  The MicroLam will be mostly buried in the second floor and the floor joists will flush frame to the side of the beam.

Friday morning starts with a mom fox and 2 pups.  Not on our land, but not far away . . .

Sheathing nail spacing is easier to get right with a story pole that helps me quickly hit 3 inch, 4 inch and 6 inch spacings.  (Must not have used it for these nails!)

Next week: starting the second floor joists.
