I was in the white car, hit head on by the pick-up also shown here. It happened in a 50km/h zone. You can see that the truck was travelling much faster than that. It took the emergency crew close to an hour to remove me from the wreckage. As you can see a Cavalier doesn't do well when up against a 4x4. The driver of the truck tried to dispose of his cooler of beer, the police found it and placed it by the truck after pulling it out of the river. When all was over and done with, the driver of the truck (a 21 year old male) was charged with two counts of impaired causing bodily harm, sentenced to nine months, served only 2 1/2. This was his second charge of impaired. His alcohol reading was 2.89. The other passengers in my car received only minor injuries, if you can believe that! The driver of the truck recieved a fractured arm, the passenger in the truck wasn't hurt at all. |
