Happy Birthday

Happy birthday, my love
That is of course to say
If I was ready to have you
Then today would be the day

I wasn't ready for you yet
When you entered into my womb
Wasn't ready for your demands
So my body became your tomb

Now don't get me wrong, my love
I don't regret the choice I made
I know I made the right decision
More and more every passing day

But sometimes when I'm alone
As the moonlight hits my face
I wonder what would have been
If this had been a different case

Would your name be Aradia
Or Ferdinand perhaps
Would your dress in lace and curls
Or maybe a cute baseball cap

Would you love to listen to music
Or maybe you would prefer to draw
The written word might catch your eyes
Or would you like the arts at all

Would you explore every nook and cranny
Or hide safely in my arms
Would you run from every stranger
Or would they smile at your charm

As you wait in heaven, my love
For the chance to be with me
Know that the first time was just too soon
It just wasn't meant to be

But the next time I have the chance
To hold you in my embrace
You'll be my precious little angel
Full of blessings, full of grace

So happy birthday, my love
If this time I had been stronger
But soon I'll be ready for you
Please just wait a little longer
