Hate Problems Originally Written: December 15th, 2000 |

Sitting here I face problems,
No person should ever have to face. Problems of religious freedom, Of hatred and distaste. I face it with my enemies, I face it with my friends. But I also face it with my family, Who don’t always make amends. I walk down the hall, Watching as they stare. And I cringe because I know, Some of those are glares. I wish to spread my hands to them, Look eye to eye and ask, “Why do you hate me so, When we are the same with no masks? “All we want is love, Caring and happiness. But what I also beg of you, Is just a little acceptance! “We are human, the two of us, We are not different at all. No matter gender, race, or religion, We always try to stand up tall.” I face problems every passing day, Of prejudice and hate, But I will hold my head up high, And hold on to my faith. |
