Mommy

“Mommy, turn back!”
The demons screamed to me
“You don’t have to do this
You can still be redeemed!”

“Think of your child, Mommy!”
They yelled in disbelief
“It deserves a chance, too
Can you live with this grief?”

“Please Mommy, don’t do this!”
They prayed to the sky
“You can still pull through this
Don’t let this child die!”

“No, Mommy, please no”
They ripped into my pain
“What will you say to God
When He asks you to explain?”

“It’s not too late, Mommy!”
They cried as the door shut them out
“You shouldn’t go through with it
If you have any sort of doubt!”

“How could you, Mommy?”
They sneered when it was finally done
“We hope you burn in hell
Your pain has just begun.”

“You’re not fit to be a Mommy”
The demons turned away
“You’ll never be good enough for them
Not now, not any other day.”

“Goodbye now, Mommy.”
They jeered and they hissed
“Like that baby you destroyed
To us, you will never exist.”
