On the Shores of Avalon
Originally Written: January 12th, 2002
I lie in the crisp bed
Staring at the white walls
As my mind wanders to the shore of Avalon
For no worries can reach me there.

They prick and prod me
Try medicine and tests
But my mind stays on the shores of Avalon
For no pain can reach me there.

There’s nothing left to do
They’ve done all they can
But it doesn’t matter on the shores of Avalon
For no fear can reach me there

Darkness falls across my eyes
Life slowly melts away
And I can finally stand on the shores of Avalon
For Heaven is all that’s there.
