Real-life terror for Mel Gibson in wild 80 m.p.h. car chase
Cops are investigating a mysterious high speed chase in which three punks in separate cars
hurled through Hollywood in hot persuit of Mel Gibson for the purpoes of a) assault, b) murder, c) kidnapping d) to ask for an autograph (pick one).  Mel's wild 80 -mile-per-hour began minutes after the actor had his handprints immortalized in concrete at Mann Chinese Theatre.  On the way back to Warner Brothers Studio, Mel's driver noticed three suspicious cars following closely.  The chauffeur phoned the studio to warn them of the situation, then floored it.  Moments later the limo burst through a studio gate with the three cars still on it's tail and Mel hugging the floor.  The driver roared across the lot at 80 m.p.h. and safely deposited the shaken star at the security office--just as the police arrived.  Two of the drivers were caught, the third escaped.  Authorities began interrogating the two suspects to discover the motive for the chilling chase.
