Dear Daddy,

It's me your little girl.
I wanted to find a way to thank you,
for the gift that you left for me -
even though you were not able to be there
to share it.

But we danced, didn't we?
Oh how we danced -
With the colourful swirls
and rainbow ribbon streaks
of the Northern Lights.

And you shed tears of light,
that streaked like comets -
showering down across the colourful sky.
So happy that your little girl

was all grown up.

And though this new man
has promised to take care of me
he'll never replace you Daddy -
nor will I ever forget
how you'd swing me high
and dance with me
so long ago.

Just like you did that night
that Miss became Mrs
and you danced across the sky
shedding tears of joy -
giving me back my faith in God

after witnissing the miracle

of a father's love

A love,
that reached out
from beyond death's gate
just to dance with his little girl
on her wedding day.

- after leaving the reception and arriving at our hotel, I witnessed something I doubt that I'll ever see again - the Northern Lights, brighter than ever before, with shooting stars cascading through them. They lasted for over an hour, and I wept, while dancing, on the cool grass, in my dress and in my stocking feet. I had my dance with my dad.
