So we sat, we ate, and we drank. (though my Hubby and I only had one glass of wine each - we had decided NOT to get even the slightest bit tipsy on such an important day - and we're both glad that we stuck to that decision - we still had a marvelous time)
A wonderful feast of fruits, veggies, different sorts of breads, crackers, cheeses, dips and... *drum roll* chocolate (white and dark) covered strawberries was set up before us. There was also three different types of wine in which to wash it all down with.
Our compliments to the Chefs! (concerning food AND price - they were my husband's brother-in-law's brother and one of his co-workers - so we got it all for half the cost)
Halfway through our meal the speeches started. The Best Man said some very touching words about how much in love we were - the Maid of Honour told of how proud she was of us (and our cat?!?) - two Groomsmen made us nearly cry with their (slightly drunken yet still touching) speeches - the Father of the Groom welcomed me into the family, my Mom told cute stories about me, my brother teased me, and finally, my
sister and MC made me bawl. Then we said our speeches - or should I say, I said the speech and Hubby pretty much agreed with it. In fact, whatever it was that I said (I don't quite recall it - I was still pretty emotional at that time) must have made quite an impact with everyone, 'cause they all applauded... and I even heard a few sniffles...
As my hubby said, "That's why she's the talker in the family... damn good at it too."
