Derek Powers and Mr.Fixx murdered Terry's father.Terry,discovered plans for illegal biological weapons,he turned to the only man who could help him,Batman.When a unhappy Bruce Wayne pushed Terry away,Terry then stealed the batsuit and proceeded to exact his own form of revenge.Bruce,tried to stop him,but Terry reasoned that the biological weapons were shipping that night,and it would be his last chance for vengeance against his father's killer.Wayne,having lost his parents in the same way,Wayne finally conceded.Wayne,allowed Terry to stop Mr.Fixx and Powers.Terry,fullfilled in stopping Powers and Mr.Fixx,Wayne thought Terry worthy enough to become the next Batman.Thats how Terry McGinnis became the next Batman.
Bruce,was -once-the exclusive handsome Brruuuce Waaayne!Now,he is an old geezer with a dangerous cane!Also,he was Batman,but he retired at his old age.He once owned Wayne Enterprises and was very rich.Now,Bruce allowed Terry to take over his job as Batman.The odd thing is,he didn't get married.I expected him to marry Selena Kyle or Batgirl(Barbara Gordon.I thought I seen an episode explaining he did have a relationship with her).He also had a relationship with Talia.I guess he couldn't mend any problems with ether of them.Anyways,he now helps Terry get rid of the scum of the earth by advising Terry.
You knew her as the once 'red'haired,Batgirl!She is no longer the costumed Batgirl because time changes and so does she.She toke over her father's job.Barbara,may no longer be in action because of old age just like Bruce,but is still in the fight against crime.Barbara,also doesn't seem to thrilled with Terry as the new Batman.Barbara,is still smart and also a very tough cop who you don't wanna mess with.She is in her early sixties.
