WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Greetings and salutations! Did you know that our club was founded in the 1880s and has a long history of providing sport and physical recreation opportunities to everyone within the University community? We are one of the most active clubs at the University and as such we are proudly affiliated with Tennis Victoria to offer year round tennis for all members great and small, primate and human. Our club is currently graced with 4 hard courts located behind the University of Melbourne Sports Complex.
This website has been designed to help current and prospective members keep up to date with club events and competitions. We aim to promote tennis within the University community and to encourage active participation amongst members. All prospective, new and existing members are encouraged to frequently review the content on our website as it contains all the information you require about how to join, membership benefits, the various competitions, social activities and the operations of the club. News Flash!
Mr Cameron Nolan, club member of Sunday Competition fame, has featured in UniNews this week (vol.14, no.16). He contributed to his team winning this year's Australian Law Students' Association Mooting Grand Final. He and a fellow team-mate have been invited to represent Australia at the bi-annual Commonwealth Law Moot competition to be held in London later this year. So be warned not to argue over any line calls with Cam, cos you now know that you won't win!
Membership Keyring provides a greater value than you can imagine... A backpack was fished out of the Yarra river by a good citizen. It was a mystery as to the ownership of the backpack until the good citizen saw the Tennis Club Membership Keyring shining from the bottom of the soggy backpack. The good citizen then bought the backpack to the Sport Centre, who in turn contacted the Club. Through the club's membership database we were able to find the owner's name so that the backpack could be returned to the comforting arms of its owner... and all lived happily ever after!
