The method requires a participant to write down the dream and help interpret.Step 1: Tell the dream to your partner, one line at a time. The partner writes out the dream as it is being relayed.
Step 2: Your partner reads out the dream, one line at a time. Pick out the word or word phrase which is most salient to you and have your partner circle or underline that word or phrase.
Step 3: Your partner will then read each word or phrase, starting from the end of the dream. You say what each word/phrase means to you (it may not make sense, but it should be what immediately pops into your head. Eg. “head” could mean “business” to you)
Step 4: Your partner will put these new meanings (starting from the beginning of the dream) into a coherent paragraph. For example, if you had “dog”, “scare” and “bite” it may mean that “the dog scares you because it may bite”. If the dream interpretation does not immediately make sense, work with it and try new meanings. Some word may have to be altered or eliminated, but in my experience it has worked perfectly without having to change anything except tenses.
