Review:  MARS is a wonderful romance.  Kira and Rei are made for each other, but no matter how much they love each other things always try and get in their way.  But I guess that's how these things usually work.  I just love Rei's character.  The whole pro racer thing is awesome!  Then again I am fascinated by all the racing in manga and anime, I guess in some real life things too.  I see a lot of myself in Kira in a way, so maybe that's why I can relate to the story more and understand some of the stuff she goes through.  Though the art isn't always consistant and the facts seems to get a little sketchy in parts I would say that MARS is one of my favorite mangas.  Anyone who enjoys a good romance put this on your list.

Review:  Ever wondered what a teengae manga soap opera may be like?  Well, here's something close to it!  Mars is a wonderful romance with the dream of two lovers that are so unlike in reputation fall in love.  Kira, the loner artist, and Rei, the popular play boy, fall in love.  I hate to admit it, but it's something that interests me greatly.  I can relate to Kira in many ways, making me even more attracted to the series.  With romance that'll tickle the hearts of all those romantics out there, some slices of humor here and there, motorcycle racing for those type of action fans, and drama to keep you reading, it's no wonder that this manga has become so popular in Japan.  Plus there are "interesting" characters that'll suprise anyone including Kira's enemy Harumi (who ironically becomes her best friend later), Shiori (Rei's rich ex-girlfriend), Bisexual Masao, Kira's step-father, and many others.  Plus, there are tons of dramatic situations that the couple get into such as Rei's past with his twin brother, Kira's English teacher's sexual harassment on her, or even Shiori's attempted suicide will keep reader's flipping the pages and buying the graphic novels.  One thing though is the art work on the covers is one of the most horrible I've seen in manga.  However, just like the saying goes, "You can't judge a book by it's cover", Mars has a wonderful story deep inside the graphic novel.  One you get past the cover, any romantic would enjoy this series...
