Physical Dangers of Anorexia and Bulimia
The Physical Consequences of Eating Disorders are not something to be taken lightly.  You may be reading these and thinking "but, that'll never happen to ME."  The truth is, if you don't stop, one of these things WILL happen to you.  If you don't recover, you will eventually die, either FROM your eating disorder or WITH your eating disorder, and neither way is a good way to go.  Or ten years from now you may be IN A COMA, or may have KIDNEY FAILURE, of have your ESOPHAGUS RUPTURE.  I hope that's not the case.  I hope everyone reading this will be able to enjoy a long life and accomplish all of your dreams ((BESIDES being thin).  You all deserve to be happy.  The number on the scale will never be able to give you THAT.
Dehydration
Symptoms:
Dry or sticky mouth, very dark urine or not having any urine output at all, not being able to cry, sunken eyes, lethargic or comatose (with severe dehydration).

Dehydration is classified as mild, moderate, or severe based on the percentage of body weight lost. When severe, dehydration is a life-threatening emergency.  Untreated severe dehydration may result in seizures, permanent brain damage, or death.

• A 5 percent loss of body fluids results in thirst, irritability, nausea, and weakness. ((MILD - MODERATE))
• A 10 percent loss results in dizziness, headache, inability to walk, and a tingling sensation in the limbs. ((MODERATE - SEVERE))
• A 15 percent loss results in dim vision, painful urination, swollen tongue, deafness, and a numb feeling in the skin. ((SEVERE - EXTREMELY SEVERE))
• A loss greater than 15 percent of body fluids may result in death.  ((EXTREMELY SEVERE))

If you purge excessively or simply don't eat and drink enough water, or take laxatives or diurectics to rid your body of water a lot, you are in danger of this!  If you lose 10 pounds or more overnight through some or all of these means, you KNOW logically that it can't be fat -- it's the water that your body needs to survive.  If you start to experience the early symptoms of dehydration, please, drink some water.  Water is your friend!  It's even calorie free!  : )  It's not fun ending up in the hospital with IV's in your arm.  Trust me.  ; )
