Synopsis. Melies arrives and finds an aquarium. He pours water from the aquarium into his hat, changes into a hobo, and begins catching fish out of his hat, as well as pulling rabbits out. Then after changing back to his normal self, he changes the room into an underwater scene. The aquarium moves towards the camera until it fills the entire screen. A mermaid appears and Melies changes into King Neptune.
Although the preface to this film is bland (magic tricks for magic's sake - not relating to the story), once the mermaid appears the film becomes more pleasing, even though the mermaid is present only briefly.
