Mock titles were placed in between the clips; the loading/firing scenes included "5..4..3..2..1..Bang!", the projectile piercing the eye of the moon included "Oooh....Ouch!" and the

Nytol (commercial)
- An advertisement for the drug Nyttol was an obvious nod to Melies, as it featured a grimacing man in the moon, along with a 'man in the sun' that resembled the one from
The Eclipse. The commercial had a very theatrical look with
seemingly hand tinted colour styling.
Queen - "Heaven for Everyone" (1993 - music video)

Voyage, The Eclipse, and Journey into Space.
Smashing Pumpkins - "Tonight Tonight" (1995 - music video)
- The music video for the Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight Tonight" opens with passengers boarding a blimp with the signature "S.S. Melies". Two of them fall off the blimp and land on the moon. They are captured by the selenites, but escape them by whacking them with their umbrellas and take off on a rocket. They land in the ocean and are brought back to the surface in a bubble provided by mermaids.
Space Network (Canada)
- In the Space Channel's (former) MMovies from Space promo, at least two references from
A Trip to the Moon are displayed. One shows an actor dressed as Melies' Moon. Another has an actress sitting on a crescent being filmed with hand wound cameras, as in the dream of the stars.
- Another promo parodies A Trip to the Moon.
