"If they don't see me, they'll go away. If they don't see me, they'll go away." Pausing by Harvey's desk, Nash wrinkled his brow in puzzlement. He could swear he heard Harvey's voice, chanting something. Walking around and leaning over, he was stunned to see his friend crammed under his desk. "Harvey, what in the world are you doing under your desk?" Looking around frantically, Harvey gestured for Nash to lower his voice. "I'm hiding from THEM!" "Them? Them who?" Nash made a mental note to give Harvey some time off. The man obviously needed it. "Those ladies…the writers. Every time I step away from my desk, they DO something to me! I'm not even safe at home." Harvey tried to press himself further under the desk when he heard the clicking of heals on the SIU's floor. He hoped it wasn't one of THEM. "Harvey, aren't you being a little paranoid? They don't bother me much." |
"Paranoid? They beat me up, blow me up, shoot me, all but drown me, get me practically fired, I never know who I'm supposed to be dating or who I'm married to from one day to another…who my partner is, what car to drive or what boat I'm supposed to be working on. And do you know how much laundry I had to do a few weeks ago? Everyone's out to get me!" Nash could tell that Harvey was getting frantic at this point. "Look, I'll talk to them. Maybe I can get them to leave you alone for a little while, okay. Maybe we can inflict a little writer's block. That'll give you a break." Looking hopeful, Harvey crawled out from under his desk. "Are you sure that'll work?" Giving Harvey a hand up, Nash smiled reassuringly. "Sure, it'll work. Unless they start helping each other out again. See, it's working already. You're just fine." |
They both looked up, Nash with a startled expression…Harvey with a look of terror, as a group of women suddenly burst through the doors of the SIU. The two women in front shared a look, then the shorter one put her hands on her hips and smiled at her companion. "See, I told you we'd find him here." Turning to Harvey, she frowned and pointed a finger at him accusingly. "Where have you been hiding? Don't you know Kat and I are stuck? We needed you today, and you're hiding out here? Oh no, buster, you get back out there where you belong." When Nash began to chuckle, the taller one turned on him with an evil smile. "What are you laughing about? You're next." |
Laughing, the women did an about face and left the barge. Nash turned to Harvey, his face resembling the look Harvey had had earlier. Harvey looked downright terrified. "Nash, I'm scared." "Me too, bubba. If anyone needs me, I'll be under my desk." |
