A Day In The Life of a Surveillance Truck
Amanda Green2Go2000

Boy was Harvey tired. He had just finished a 12-hour shift and now Joe and Evan were to show up so he could leave. Just has he was about to leave the surveillance truck, Joe popped up. Harvey could tell by the look in Joe’s face that he wasn’t to happy being out at this time. It was raining outside and very cold in the truck. " Joe, how are you?" Harvey asked.
"Good," was all he got in reply from Joe.  "Evan will be late and I hope don’t mind helping me out until he gets here?"
Of course Harvey did mind. All he wanted to do was get home and sleep but he didn’t say a word. He just sat down and started to look at the monitors again.

To Joe, Harvey looked like he was fall over. Joe wouldn’t be surprised if Harvey was going to fall asleep in the next hour or so. He hoped that Evan would show up soon for Harvey’s sake.

While Joe was getting cozy in the truck, Harvey was remembering the last time Joe and himself worked together.  A bathroom remodeling disaster.  A whole house up in smoke. He couldn’t help letting out a slight laugh at the memory.

At that very moment Joe pulled a deck of cards from his pocket and asked, "Do you want to play?"
"Sure," he said. They played "Go-Fish" for a half-hour when the cards flew all over. While picking the cards up Joe tipped his chair over taking Harvey with him. If anyone was outside the truck all they would have heard was a loud crash.
"Joe?"
"Yea?"
"Can you please get off me?"
With that said Joe got up, a little too quickly, and hit his head on the roof. "Oh man, can the people that make these trucks, make them any bigger?" Joe asked with a frown.

All the comment did was make Harvey laugh.  Joe looked down at Harvey with unhappiness and said, "Are you going to stay down there forever?" This made Harvey get up and get quiet all at same time.

After another half-hour of silence, only the rain plopping down on the roof was heard. Then Joe asked, "Harvey do you think the weather will get any better?" When Joe didn’t get a response, he turned towards Harvey and found him fast to sleep.  "How nice." Joe thought, wishing he could be sleeping right now.

When Evan finally did get to the truck, he found two very unhappy men. Harvey had woken up soon after Joe found him asleep because Joe had dumped a bottle of water on him. So to make things even in the soggy cloths department he dumped a bottle of water on Joe. This made both men move towards the opposite ends of the truck. That was how Evan found them when arrived. When Harvey saw Evan, he practically ran out of the truck and by the look on Joe’s face he was happy to see Harvey leave. Evan didn’t ask any questions.  He just smiled and got to work.
