Welcome to ze Lounge.

Thanks for stopping by to pay us a visit here at this, the third incarnation of the much loved, Melk's Lounge website. If you've never been here before, grab a drink and have a look around. And remember, the lower your expectations, the more impressed you'll be!

The Rundown (A brief history of the Lounge)

In the summer of 1999 or sometime early in 2000 ‘the Lounge' was erected. As may be obvious with the current version of the site, there was no reason for it, it was mostly a way station for personal photos to use in the now desolate run down piece of silly buddy-ness that used to be the C*E*A. Now the regulars aren't even regulars. Tis a sorry state of affairs indeed.

After a while I decided to add some flashiness to the whole thing which lead to the creation of ‘the Lounge v2.0' and that was definitely in 2000. The page took forever to load and with all the little things on it that I thought made it look cool, it only allowed one person access to half of the site before surpassing alotted bandwidth and killing the site for an hour or two. v2.0 had the longest lifespan of any of the versions of ‘the Lounge' and it almost looked good.

In October of 2001, following the death of my father and the subsequent loss of my job I took to writing the long dormant ‘The Chosen.' A story line which had been living and growing inside my mind for nearly 5 years before I decided to start writing it. With a stroke of bad luck I finally found the time.

While I wrote I found a new home with the people at Project Greenlight. And shortly after finishing 'The Chosen' ‘the Lounge' was bulldozed to make room for, what I thought at the time, a very wonderful idea to turn the space into the home for Sl@cker Films Ltd. a division of GitAJobProdukshuns. Thankfully this didn't last very long.

Upon nearing the summer of 2002 and once againreturning to CEA 'the Lounge' came back, not in a big way but in the only way it could. Gone were the days of fancy flash opening pages that kill the site due to data rate transfers, gone were the days or flashy little gif's that only I thought were cool. Now simplicity was the order of the day, So hoorah for 'the Lounge' may it be enjoyed by all those who happen upon it!
