2007 Dec 29th. The sudden but peaceful death took place at her home of Bridget (Bea) Mellett. RIP . She was buried on her 87th Birthday on New Years Eve. Present and Past Staff formed a Guard of Honour from the Church in Swinford to the Graveyard in Kilconduff Swinford
2008 June 30th. A very important event took place. Joe Mellett was elected as Caithaoirleach of Mayo Co Co. He will hold the chain of office for one year. It was a historical moment in the Council Chamber as he is the third generation of Melletts to be a Councillor - though the first to become Chairman. Tributes from all parties were paid to Joe by his fellow Councillors. His immediate family, Frances Kevin Marie and Roisin and his siblings Mary Sheelah and Midge were on hand to applaud this great moment.
