| Plastic Canvas Pieces (7 mesh): - four 31 x 38 bar sides - one 31 x 31 bar top |
| Yarn Colors: - white - purple - blue - rose - yellow - raffia (or almond colored yarn) |
| Assembly: 1. Use my original flower stitch to partially fill up all four sides of the tissue cover. Randomly arrange the flowers all over the side panels, using all different colors of yarn for your flowers. 2. Create a border/frame on each side panel with raffia with a long stitch. Simply stitch straight lines over several bars of the plastic canvas. Be creative in the corners. Try angling your stitches or using a decorative stitch of your own. (Note that the border will sometimes be interrupted by flowers. That is fine. Adjust your border as necessary to go around the flowers.) (*I chose to not fill in the remainder of each panel, leaving the canvas exposed. It creates the illusion of flowers growing around your tissue box! You can fill it in if desired with a yarn color of your choice or raffia.) 3. Cut a whole in the top of the box (approximately 12 x 12 bars). Then stitch with raffia around the edge. If you would like a flower like I have done, stitch the flower on the lid first and then cut your hole around the flower. 4. With the four side panels and top completed, simply join them together with raffia at the edges. |
| For a Large Tissue Box: Cut your plastic canvas pieces as follows: - two 33 x 23 bar small sides - two 64 x 23 bar large sides - one 33 x 64 bar top Fill in the panels as directed above, with the flowers and raffia border. Cut a slightly larger hole on top for the tissues. |

| Embellishment Ideas: - The plastic canvas is left bare in many spots. That means that the look of the project changes with the color of plastic canvas that you use. Try using almond, black, or magenta as your base color for a different look! - Use artificial flowers to embellish the piece. Simply use the raffia border and hot glue tropical flowers on (instead of stitching them) for a real quick project! - If the bare canvas shows too much of an ugly tissue box, wrap the tissue box with tissue paper, fabric, or other pretty scrap you have on hand. That way your pretty scrap shows through and not the ugly tissue box! |
| More Ideas: Believe or not, raffia really does work on plastic canvas. Take advantage of it! -It creates a wonderful texture when used for basic stitches. -It will take paint, so you can stitch and then paint or stamp on it! |
