Bumble Bee Memo Holder
June Bugs Designs
Plastic Canvas Pieces (7 mesh):
     - two 8 x 11 bar rectangles (bees)
     - six 8 x 8 bar squares (base)
Yarn Colors:
    - yellow
     - black
     - light blue (or any color desired for          the base of the holder)
Additional Supplies:
    - clothespin
     - pipecleaners
Assembly:

1. Cut the corners of the two 8 x 11 bar rectangles to make the bee shapes (see
picture).

2.  Stitch the bee shapes with black and yellow stripes.  (My stripes are 2 rows thick, with a head of 3 rows.)  Make sure to finish all edges of the bee with a nice whipstitch.

3.  Embellish the bees with pipecleaner wings and eyes.  I used beads for the eyes, and dotted them with a permanent marker.  Google eyes can be glued on as well.  Use your imagination!

4..  To create the base, fill in the six 8 x 8 bar squares using a tent stitch.  Create the box using five of the six squares, so that one end of the box is open.  Fill the box with rice, glass floral pebbles, small rocks, or any other small trinket to create weight in the base.  Then close the box by stitching on the sixth and final square.

5.  Glue the bumble bees to the clothespin.  Make sure that the clothespin is oriented so that the opening is on the top and the part you squeeze is on the bottom.

6.  Attach a piece of wire or pipe cleaner to the back side of the clothespin.  Then attach this wire/pipe cleaner to your base.
Gift Idea:

This memo holder makes a great recipe card holder.  Give the holder with some recipe cards for a great housewarming gift.
