In Memory of John Mellor late of Rainow In him were happily blended gentleness and unobtrusiveness with inflexible firmness and integrity. He was a pillar in the Wesleyan body sustaining to it important relations and he died full of honour rather than of years, falling asleep in Jesus September 23rd 1844 aged 58 years.

Underneath rest the remains of
George third son of John and Hannah Mellor who departed this life December 14th 1848 in the  29th year of his age.

Also
Hannah wife of Henry Martin Armitage of Stockport and fourth daughter of the aforesaid John and Hannah Mellor who died July 1st 1853 aged 35 years.

In memory of
Mary Thornburn the dearly loved child of John and Annie Eliza Mellor of Kerridge End House, Rainow who died very suddenly November 7th 1880 aged 2 years and 5 months.Their angels to always behold the face of my father which is in heaven.

Underneath rest the remains of
Nancy third daughter of John and Hannah Mellor who departed this life on the 6th day of August 1868 aged 52 years.

Also
Elizabeth youngest sister of the above named Nancy Mellor born November  6th 1827 died September 21st 1887. Blessed are the death which die in the lord.

To the memory of
Hannah wife of John Mellor who departed this life October 11th 1838 age 50. Her dust rests herein patient hope for he who was in her life stay as promised he will raise her up to dwell with him in endless day.

Sacred to the memory of
Laura Elizabeth youngest daughter of the undernamed John Mellor who died on the 6th day of March 1872 aged 14 years. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god Matthew VS she was a dutiful daughter, a loving sister and a tender hearted friend.

To the memory of
John eldest son of John and Hannah Mellor who departed this life February 2nd 1860 aged 47 years.
Also
Sarah Mellor widow for the above named who entered into rest February 11th 1892 aged 72 years. Her children will rise up and call her blessed.

In loving memory of
John Mellor of Kerridge End House born November 15th 1845 died December 5th 1919 Light is sown for the righteous and gladness of the upright in heart ps9 7.11

In loving memory of
Annie Eliza wife of John Mellor of Kerridge End House born December 21st 1844 died November 9th 1890 Being dead yet speaketh whosoever liveth believeth in me shall never die  John XI

Also
Ellen widow of John Mellor and beloved stepmother of his children died  October 15th 1957 aged 96 years.
