Nikki and Victor are probably known to most fans on "The Young and The Restless" as the #1 couple. They have had their share of tears and joy. They have 2 grown children Victoria and Nicholas.They have had many memorable moments over the years. They met at "The Bayou" where Nikki was a stripper. Victor laid his evyes on her and realized he was the woman for him. He took her home and changed her into a nice young woman.Today Nikki works at Jabot Cosmetics and serves on the board of directors. To recent viewers who don't know the history of Y&R they would assume that because Nikki is married to Newman Enterprises CEO Victor Newman and has a job at Jabot Cosmetics that she was always happy and successful but the longtime viewers know that wasn't always true. Nikki is an alcoholic. When she was married to Jack Abbot she was riding on a horse while she was pregnant with their child and fell off causing a miscarriage. Her doctor perscribed her some painkillers but those weren't working so she combined them with alcohol. This hid her physical pain and emotional pain. Victor found out about the drinking and was convinced that her unhappy marriage to Jack was the cause. She and Jack both tried to stop the drinking but it wasn't working. So finally Victor told her that if she didn't check into rehab he was going to take custody of their children and not allow Nikki to see them until she straightened her life out. Another struggle that the two of them faced was Victors relationships with many women in Genoa City. Some of his lovers include: Ashley Abbot, and Diane Jenkins these are two enemies of Nikkis. The most recent struggle they have faced is Victors attempt to bribe retailers into putting Safra on the shelves as opposed to Tuvia. Nick found out about this and turned Victor into the authorities. Victor is now doing community service. He is building a Rec center for the children of Genoa City. No matter what the struggle is Nikki and Victor will always find their way back to each other. |
