| Bob and Gayle They serenaded us with their beautiful music, both singing and playing guitars. We loved them so much that we bought a CD from them. They call themselves "Anderson-Gram," and they're awesome folk singers/guitar players. My favorite song they sang was "Forever 13," a song they wrote. Check out their website -- click below: |
| Musical Fun with Great Friends! |
| On May 2nd, we traveled up to Placerville to visit my Dad and my long-time friend from high school Paula. She and her husband Mike happen to live only about five minutes away from my Dad. Paula and I used to hang out, sing and play guitars together in San Francisco in the early 1970's, which seems like a lifetime ago. We've remained friends all these years, but this was the first time in probably 20 years that we got to sing together again! Above, we're singing one of our favorites, "Leavin' on a Jet Plane." Okay, so we didn't sound as good as Bob and Gayle, but we sure had spirit -- and we were on key! My boyfriend Mike took these pictures. My Dad sits in the background (above). I think he enjoyed the music. |
| We enjoyed a fun day with great people. We even played Croquet in Paula and Mike's beautiful yard and ate lots of awesome food. I came in last when I "attempted" to play, but it was fun! Megan came in third place on her first try. Go figure. Paula and Mike's friends, Bob, Kathy, Bob and Gayle were totally cool. |

| David performs an amazing feat -- he plays guitar and harmonica at the same time! He's a good singer too (I wonder if anyone can sing and play harmonica at the same time?) Paula says David sounds a lot like Jim Croce, who tragically died in a plane crash in the early '70's just as his career was taking off. So David dedicated, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," to Paula. I agree! He does sound a lot like Jim Croce, come to think of it. |
