"Daddy! Daddy!" "Yes, uh huh, I understand that Burke, yeah, duh! I know that was goin on with him man." "Daddy Daddy! Listttteeeennn! Guess what!!!" "Burke, look, I don't know what's up with those two, but they need to get their act together, their driving everyone mad!" "DDDDADDYYY!!!" A.J. jumped at the screech of his daughter's voice right next to his ear. "What Danni?" A.J. asked, pulling the phone away from his for a second. "I need tuh talks to you..." She replied in a sweet voice, pursing her small, cherry red lips. A.J.'s face softened and quickly told the caller on the other line he would call him back. "What is it baby?" A.J. wondered, picking his daughter up and placing her up on his lap. "Jordan left." "What? Why?" A.J. exclaimed, getting to his feet, holding Danni tightly in his arms. "She said she had a date and not tell you.." A.J. sighed with irratation, stomping his foot. "Is Daddy mad..?" Danni wondered. "No sweetie. I'm fine. Your babysitter is just irresponsible. I'm going to get you a new one, and stop giving work to B.J.'s friends."
Danni nodded firmly in agreement. "Hey Howie! Another babysitter left!" A.J. shouted into the back of the tour bus, where Howie Dorough was sitting at a tiny desk by himself on his cell-phone, writing things down. "Hold on, my bandmate is calling me. Another one J?" Howie shouted back. "Yeah, do me a favor, call her parents up and tell her she's fired. I'll find a new babysitter for Danni later!" "Alright man." A.J. felt secured, and walked outside of the bus seeing the bright sun-light, and park that was right ahead of him. They had been touring Florida, attempting to salvage or more like save the group in any possible way. None of the guys wanted to admit it, but they were getting old, and they were losing fans. Face it, Kevin was 32, and had his own kid on the way, Nick was chubbier than hell, and had grown a beard, and had pretty much lost his good, cute looks. Leighanne had just given birth to a baby girl, two months before, and that just contributed to losing more fans because Brian wasn't all that interested in the group anymore. Howie was the only really without a life, but he wasn't a big help at all anyway, he was down most of the time. Probably because all he had left was the group, and that was falling apart. So he buried himself in working for his sister Pollyanna.
Than there was himself, he was the same off as Brian and Kevin, he was taking care of Danni, and decided not to put too much effort into the group, and instead concentrated on his solo act. Most of the time he had more people at his solo concerts than at the Backstreet Boy concerts. It was getting sad, and the guys were getting tired. Pretty soon, the inevitable would happen, and the band would split. They were on a two-day rest in Florida, and were just chilling around the tour bus trying to act like it was old times. But it wasn't. Kevin and Kristen were out baby shopping, Brian and Leighanne went with them, taking their baby girl, Serena, along. Nick was crashed out in front of the television, playstation controller in his hands, and to everyone's amusement Nick was still pretty much the same at heart. Only Howie and him stayed on the bus and brushed up on songs and such.
"Daddy, let's play on da monkey bars!" Danni exclaimed excitedly, squirming out of her fathers arms and running over to the playground. A.J. laughed, than ran after her, brushing a hand through his brown spikey hair. He had finally stopped dyeing it when Danni had gotten into his dye one day and dumped it all over herself. He had been thankful she hadn't eaten any of it, but just to be sure he had rushed her to the hospital, and it had been the worst five minutes of his life. It was pretty amusing though when he found out he had been paranoid for nothing. But he realized he defintely did not want to take the chance of her REALLY swallowing the toxic stuff so he stopped dying his hair.
A.J. watched Danni freely and easily make her way through all the monkey bars, swinging in perfect motion. A.J. than followed behind, happy he was still a young guy. Although he FELT old. The Backstreet Boys had felt like a lifetime, and now it was almost gone. Hell, even Carson Daly wasn't VJing anymore. He was now acting on soap operas, and winning lots of Emmy's. Funny how life could come back and bite you in the ass. "I'm going to beat you daddy!" "Oh yeah!" A.J. challanged, chasing his precious baby around the playground. She giggled loudly, causing attention from other people that surrounded them. They all smiled thinking it was adorable. Quickly enough he caught up to her and pulled her into his arms, tickling her. She giggled loudly, shouting for him to stop and squirmed around. A.J. laughed again, and put her down. "Your a meanie head daddy!" Danni teased, than ran away and into the bus yelling, "Uncle Howie! Uncle Howie!"
Shaking his head, A.J. followed. He walked into the back to find Danni holding onto Howie tightly and rambling stuff on breathlessly. "Daddy...tickle...me...and he...he...I laughed so hard!...and...and...he chased me..." Howie just listened and nodded his head as she rambled on contionously. "She talks a lot." Howie put in over Danni's voice. "Oh you now just noticed?" A.J. responded. Howie smirked. "LISTENNNN HOWIE!!!" Danni whined, so loud that they heard Nick moan from the next room. "Oh o Danni, I think we woke Nickers up." Howie said loud enough for Nick to hear. "Heyyy! I am not Nickers!" Nick defended himself. "Yes you are!!!" All three voices replied.
They just recieved another moan, and laughed. |
