Julia gulped, sitting back in the small room, holding her daughter, Danni who was fidgeting around, a cheap diaper on her bottom and tattered baby clothes. It had been such a hellish past three weeks, and before long she couldn't take it anymore. She had no where to go, and no way to care of her child, so she became desperate and decided the only way to survive was the worst thing possible. But she figured she could let it live on her conscience as long as she kept reminding herself it was for Danni. Danni was all that mattered. She had finally opened her eyes two weeks ago, right after she left the hospital. They were bright blue, like her own. The funny thing was that she looked nothing like A.J. The only similiarites that could be picked out if you carefully looked were her eyebrows, nose, but most of all smile. That was so incredibly obvious. When Danni first opened her eyes, Julia had been right there and she was the first person Danni saw...and she smiled...That tore at her heart because that was the way A.J. had smiled at her.
Than she had known, Danni was worth everything. Even ruining A.J.'s life. It was his child as well anyway, he should contribute to Danni. He shouldn't get off scot free, because she hadn't. She had had a scholarship ready for her to go to MIT at her old high school, but she had to drop out cause of Danni. It was over...her only reason to live now was Danni. Julie knew she looked confident on the outside, but in the inside, she was a nervous wreck. She knew A.J. was going to be furious, and she knew she wasn't going to be treated all the well. At least by him anyway. But this was his problem to deal with too. A few minutes later, the door opened to the small office, and in walked a few men she didn't recgonize. She was surprised, because she expected to see A.J. among them, but he was nowhere to be found. They were all dressed in suits, and looked very serious. "Ms. Pierce, I'm Paul Franklin, head of Jive Records, and these men here are producers and lawyers of the Backstreet Boys. None of the boys are here with us today because we see no point. Mr. Mclean is being sent in now for his test, and in a few moments we'll be escorting you to a lab for your daughter's test." Julie nodded, listening to Mr. Franklin. "We have discussed this matter with Mr. Mclean and the Backstreet Boys themselves and they've come to a agreement. If the child is as you say, A.J.'s...well than, we've typed up in contracts what you asked for and if the test comes out positive, Mr. Mclean will sign them, and you'll get your wishes." Mr. Franklin continued as the men all sat down across from her.
"Now we'd like to read off your requests...just to make sure they are correct..." Mr. Franklin waited for her approval, and she nodded, shifting Danni in her arms who started to get a little cranky and was fussing with the top of her tank top, exposing her humongous breasts full of baby's milk, but she didn't pay attention, finding it amusing as the men in the room tried to keep attentive. "If the test's are positive, Ms. Julie Pierce, 18, of Ohio, born on December 25, 1982, will be awarded child support each month, and money to purchase a apartment/house. Child support each month has been set upon, by law, as $3.000.-" Julie nearly jumped in her chair. "$3.000???? AND a home will be provided???" She asked, shocked. Mr. Franklin just nodded and continued. "But-if the child is not his, than you will be pressed charges upon, and you will have to give the child up to foster care while you serve time." Julie just sat there, knowing the latter wouldn't happen. She knew she was right, and now everything would be alright. She smiled, and looked down at Danni, who looked back up at her with her big blue eyes. "Did you hear that Danni? Right after your test, we're gonna go shopping!" She cooed, tickling Danni's stomach. Danni giggled, and squealed. "Do you accept Ms. Pierce?" "Oh hell yes!" She shouted, standing up and grabbing Mr. Franklins hand, and shook it fiercly. "Lets get this test done than."
* * *
"Did I hear right?" "Yes, you did Mr. Mclean...I'm sorry to everyone, but Ms. Pierce was right...the child is indeed Mr. Mcleans..."
A few hours later after the news sunk in, A.J. and the guys had calmed down a bit. Mr. Franklin asked A.J. if he would like to meet his daughter, and he didn't know how to respond. He had a kid...a little girl. He couldn't believe it. What a horrible mistake. He tried to think that everything would work out, Julie wouldn't say anything, all he had to do was fish out money for the kid and her every month, and everything would work out. He didn't actually think he'd have to SEE them. Well he didn't have to, it was his choice. He just didn't expect it. In a strange way he wanted to look into those baby's eyes and see what he created, but the big part of him knew that if he saw the girl he would want to yell at her.
It was a hard decision, but he knew what had to be done, or he'd go crazy forever. |
