My Back
The fusion took, and i felt a little better for a while, but I've slipped back into a bad spot. Check out the update page for more information.
I will update this site in the next few days!
OK, Here's the first shot. Do you see anything? Me niether.
And here's the second shot. I still don't see anything!
Here's my situation:

*The First doctor told me that I had a stress fracture of the L4 vertebrae

*The second doctor told me it was spondylosis

*The third doctor hasn't said for sure, but thinks it's sciatica

* My latest doctor has diagnosed it as Spondylolisthesis, aggrevated by the accident. He has decided to perform a PLIF, Spinal Fusion to correct the problem. ?
Symptoms:
1.) Knots in my lower back, mostly a large one on the right side, but they do move and change size.

2) Moderate to severe pain. From just more than ," Wow, that hurts!", to just less than, "Kill me know!" type pain.

3) When pain is at it's worst, it radiates down to about mid-thigh on my right leg, and sometimes it goes numb.

4) Various activities aggravate the condition, from simple things like sitting too long, or folding laundry, to trying to bring a load of firewood in the house.(Haven't attempted the latter in quite a long time.)

5)  Changes in the weather/barometric pressure do affect the level of pain.

6) 2 seperate sessions of physical therapy with 2 physical therapists  have done nothing to help the condition.

7) Pain killers have little to no effect.

8) a
T.E.N.S. unit is the only thing that really brings any relief, and it is minimum.

9) Have had 3 seperate procedures with Pain Management. Injections in my Facets, Epidurals, and one where they flush my back with cortizone. (it all hurt, and there was no relief!)

10) Chiropractic did nothing for me. I tried it 2 times a week for 2 months with hope it would help. No such luck!
Just in case there is some rich person out there who feels they need to help unfortunate people with back problems, and who  lost their job because nobody could help, I am providing a link to my email. You can email me for contact information, and I will gladly accept your handout.
Sympathy Button
At the time of my surgery it will have been 2 years and 2 days since the accident. This has been a long hard road I've had to travel. ?It took strength on my part, not to give up; and a bunch of help from my friends and family. I would like to thank my family for sticking by me since the onset of this situation. I have a few friends, I would also like to thank. Below is a list of all the people I owe for putting up with me, and I would like to thank them all publicly for being there when I needed them most.
Thank you all:
My Mother and Father; Joan and Russ Claborn. My Sister and Brother-in-Law; Amy and Nick Smith. My Friends way out in California; Damon and Chris. My wonderful wife who has never had a chance to know me without my back problems and current limitations; Kim. Also, thanks to my other friends and family that I did not mention here. I hope to get better soon and pay everyone back for all the help.
I also would like to thank Dr. Mark Atnip. Even though hi s adjustments didn't work for me, he has helped countless people. He's also just a great guy! If you are ever in the Paducah, Ky area and are in need of a SUPERB Chiropractor, please visit Dr. Atnip.

My surgery is complete! It's been a few months now since the operation. I'm stiff, sore and cranky. I guess it's all part of having holes drilled in your spine. I'm getting around better every day. If the rain and cold would stay away, I know I'd feel even better. Wish me a speedy recovery!
