Dreams vs. Greed

Mindless bodies lacking souls

Knowing nothing of themselves

Every year they roam these halls

With uniforms fresh off their shelves

Neatly-pressed and buttoned-down

Social status is their prize

Hidden anger, hidden frowns

Hidden deep within their eyes

Endless games of cat and mouse

Never knowing who they are

They brag of money and their house

And how their dad's bought them a car

But emptiness is deep inside

Never finding what they need

So in their money they shall hide

When dreams are swallowed up by greed.
