Trance is something of a rage in these times. No music has grown so quickly and established itself into the music scene quite like trance has. Trance is incredibly popular, more so than house. Evolving somewhat from acid house, it has been around for quite a while. I would say trance started in the early 90's, but I could be wrong. Trance can be referred to as the "pop" music of the "techno" scene. It is very appealing and incredibly popular with young teens. Many people say they enjoy Trance because it is fast and uptempo, making it easy to dance to. Those who say this usually do not like house because it is too slow to dance to. Trance is all over the world. Some trance has even hit the mainstream; songs such as "The Launch" by DJ Jean and "Better Off Alone" by Alice DeeJay have received lots of exposure in the general public. Many commercials, especially car commercials (BMW and VW) utilize trance. This music is coming up very fast and many popular songs by well-known artists have trance-remixes. Trance has a following all its own, and has established itself ensuring its longitivity. There are all kinds of trance around, such as psy-trance, goa trance, hard trance, dark trance, deep trance, tech-trance, hard tech-trance, progressive trance, and "pop" trance so there's something for anyone. More kinds exist but don't seem quite as genuine(not that all of those listed here are!). If you would like to experiment with trance, here are some good places to start.
Some more exist, I'm not quite big on trance though. Some good mixed CD's exist and are worth checking out. If you want to add some names to the list, mail me at e-mail me Back
