Hannigan

The FirstFamilies2001 entry by , says Thomas Hannigan was born 1825 in Launceston, Tasmania and Bridget McDermott came from Ireland Nov 1849 on the Navarino to Port Phillip -
I found Brigida Brown wed 1824 to Thomas Hannigan and daughter Maria was born 1824. They are not in the convict Approvals to marry lists.
On Wed, 8 Dec 2004 Michelle and Brian confirmed that Bridget's arrival is now found to be incorrect. The correct Bridget was Biddy who came on the New Liverpool

There is a Biddy McDermott 19 on the New Liverpool 1849 as an orphan with sister Mary aged 18 (a large number of young people on this vessell are 'orphans', see NSW Gov and select online indexes, Port Phillip Index, then enter either surname or select New Liverpool from the list of ships. They are not in the NSW marriages or births - Victoria was part of NSW until 1856.
