Italy 2 - 0 Belgium
Totti 6
Fiore 66

The battle between two teams who both won their opening game was never really anything of the sort....Italy almost took the lead after five minutes when Maldini had a shot parried by De Wilde, who then recovered to block Inzaghi's follow-up effort...but within a minute of this, Italy had taken the lead through a Totti header from a free-kick on the right....The rest of the first-half was a fairly low-key affair, and once Stefano Fiore had scored with a textbook right foot curler following a one-two with Inzaghi, the result was never in doubt, and Italy had virtually booked their quarter-final place with Belgium only able to point to a shot tipped on to the bar by Toldo by way of attacking menace of their own.....Italy will take some stopping on this form, as long as their defence don't go AWOL again in the same manner as after an hour against the Turks....and they will more than likely have to face the runner-up in England's group, a team I don't envy, whoever they may turn out to be......
