Situation Normal
A journalist asks a question A politician lies. A beggar asks for money But nobody replies. A child cries through hunger And it receives a smack. A copper stops a motorist Just because he's black.
A woman puts on make-up It takes about an hour. A just man goes to prison For 'misusing' a flower. A judge says drugs are evil Then goes and has a beer. An old lady can't walk the street, Paralysed by fear.
A bloody conflict ceases Another one begins. A couple have an argument Which neither of them wins. A minister resigns his post And no-one questions why. Another rail disaster happens And no-one bats an eye.
The shops sell slacks from sweat shops At fifty quid a pair. The West sells arms to murderers And no-one seems to care. But when someone leaves 'Eastenders' It's discussed for hours and hours. It's situation normal In this crazy world of ours..... MTJ 6.10.99
