                            The 'Net

I used to think the 'net was just to keep nerds off the streets
But nowadays I'm familiar with all its wondrous feats.
Folks in different countries can keep up to date so cheap
And you can even print things out if there's some stuff you want to keep!

You can do your weekly shopping, and browse around for books
Or get some culinary tips from lots of famous cooks,
Last-minute travel can be booked if you should have to fly
And you can have an 'online chat,' the hours just fly by.

But many years ago the net meant just one thing to me,
And I'd spend many hours thinking how it'd be
If I could put some balls there, be it with feet or head,
But it's sadly not to be, so I'm settling for info instead...!
