You will be learning about Johnny Appleseed and why he was important.  You will be able to tell the class what you learned about Johnny Appleseed.
 

It is very important that we learn about Johnny because he was a well known folk hero in the 1800's.  Can you believe that some of the apples we eat today could have come from the seeds he planted?

Do you remember when we cut the apples open and you saw those little brown parts that we called seeds??  Well that is what Johnny Appleseed carried around the mid-west states planting.

Directions: First look at Johnny Appleseed on the internet.
                     Then discuss what new things you have learned.
                     Finally, we are going to answer questions on the worksheet about
                      Johnny Appleseed to add to you journals.
